Total Time1 minute
Course: diy
Keyword: diy flea shampoo, homemade flea shampoo, flea shampoo for dogs, apple cider vinegar flea shampoo

Materials

  • ¼ cup Castile Soap like Dr. Bronners unscented mild baby soap
  • ½ cup Apple Cider Vinegar or regular Vinegar
  • 1 cup hot water

Instructions

  • Combine castile soap, apple cider vinegar and water together thoroughly.
  • This makes a nice gift when put in a mason jar. You can also use a squirt bottle like the one linked to above so you don't have to worry about the mason jar breaking.
  • Shake flea shampoo mixture before each use.

Flea Dip Bathing Tips:

  • Apply from the top of your dog's head to the tip of their tail, scrubbing it in well.
  • Allow to sit on your pet for 5 minutes.
  • Use a lice comb- you can pick these up for a dollar or two at pharmacies or beauty supply stores, comb fleas off your dog right into the water.
  • Rinse very well, several times. Scrub their fur dry.
  • This lasts for several days, and will need to be repeated, but since it is natural it is safer to reapply more often than a chemical laden wash.
