Our Top 4 Fireworks Safety Tips for Pets:
Make sure to get your pet micro-chipped and tagged.
Having your pet micro-chipped helps bring extra peace of mind. If your pet is one of the unfortunate furry family members to get lost on the 4th of July, having them chipped will help make finding them that much easier! Also, making sure your pet has a proper I.D. tag with up to date information is very important. Looking for a tag is what the majority of people do when finding a lost pet. Following these simple tips will hopefully help reunite you with your pet in no time.
Keep your pets indoors!
It is an easy tip but it definitely needs to be mentioned. Keeping your pet calm and away from the loud noises of fireworks and crowds can best be accomplished by keeping them indoors. Being in a familiar place not only makes us feel comfortable but our pets too.
Be sure to give your pets their favorite toy and put their bed in the most sound-proof room in your house. If you don’t have plans for the fourth of July and you can be home with your pets, that will make it much easier to keep them safe.

Play calming music to buffer fireworks noise.
Play calm music or turn on a television for background noise to help drown out the loud noises from the fireworks. Having your pet in a well sound-proofed room and with soothing background noise will help immensely with any anxiety.
Make sure your pet gets exercise earlier in the day.
Have your pets get out lots of energy earlier in the day by playing with them and taking them for a walk. They will have an easier time relaxing when they have had an opportunity to get proper exercise.
